Obituary

Anthony Frank Mobilio, went home to God on January 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. He was 53 years young.

Warmly referred to as "Papa" by his loving family, Anthony was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 16, 1967. A diligent and ceaseless hard worker his entire life, Anthony was involved with the HVAC industry in his home state of Connecticut for over 30 years: with more than a decade employed with the Southern Connecticut Gas Company, while simultaneously running his own business, Salem Heating and Cooling. A successful businessman, Anthony persistently wished success for the many people he worked with in his industry.

A self-taught savant, Anthony was an endless advocate of self-knowledge and education: moreover, he dedicated his life to sharing his experience and expertise with his family, co-workers, and friends. Anthony was a one stop shop for any question, anytime of day, making him a role model revered by anyone fortunate enough to be in his orbit.

Anthony cherished his family dearly. He loved the crisp fall weather as much as he loved spine-tingling horror films; but nothing quite as much as his yearly family Halloween trips to Salem, Mass. Anthony was loving, protective, and above all, dedicated to caring and providing for his family.

A man of many talents, Anthony will be remembered as much for his calm and humble demeanor, as he will for his quick wit and jovial nature. The jokester of the family, he was quirky and silly at times, stoic and determined at others. He enjoyed the simple things in life, deriving pure unfiltered joy from life's little moments. Anthony will be cherished most for his kindness, his loyalty, and his never-ending love.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Dina Mobilio. He is the adoring father of Marissa Jo Zocco (Stephen Francis Staffy IV), and Bianca Lena Mobilio (Georgette Kapetaneas); the doting grandfather of Gia Bella Staffy, and Stephen Francis Staffy V; the brother of Carol Mobilio, Joseph Mobilio, and Vincent Mobilio; and the son-in-law of Joan McMahon; the uncle to many dear nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Anthony Mobilio and Frances Belfiore Mobilio.

Due to safety protocols surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, the family will have a private mass in lieu of calling hours. Friends and family are encouraged to make contributions in his memory to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
