Anthony F. Meczykowski, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Janina (Brudniak) Meczykowski, passed away on February 4, 2019 in Bridgeport Hospital. Anthony was born on January 12, 1940 in Karsin, Poland to the late Frank and Helen (Sakowska) Meczykowski and has been a long-time area resident. He came to the USA in 1958, was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Trine University (Formerly known as Tri-State College/University) in Indiana. Anthony was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was assigned to the USS Lake Champlain. He was an Associate Engineer at Remington Arms and later a Professor of Mechanical Eng. Technology at a Jr. College in Florida. He was the proprietor of A.F.M. Industries. Anthony was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 36, the Polish Army Veterans Association Post 24 and a former member of VFW Post 7788. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 33 years, include his cherished daughter, Dorothy of Stratford, a son, Michael, brother, John Roman and his wife Frances of Virgina, a nephew, James and a niece, June. Friends may visit with Anthony's family on Monday, February 11 ^th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
