IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna
Surina
December 18, 1927 – April 11, 2022
Anna L. Surina, 94, passed away at her home in Monroe on April 11.
She was born in the province of Salzburg Austria to the late Wenefrieda and Friedrich Langegger. She grew up in the village of Muhlbach of Pinzgau with her older sister, Maria. She was trained as a seamstress. Anna met and married Paul Surina, a paratrooper stationed in the area during WW2.
From Austria, Anna came with her husband to Bridgeport before they had a home built in Monroe. She was a member of St.Jude Catholic Church and retired from Philips Medical. After retirement, she wintered in CT and often summered in the Alps. She continued to sew and share her talents, loved long walks and travel as well as entertaining friends in both homes.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, sister and parents. Survivors include many nephews and nieces and their children, as well as friends, on three continents. Her family wishes to thank her long-time live-in companion Christine who allowed her to stay in her home as she wished.
Anna's service was private and burial was held at St John's Cemetery in Stratford.
Donations can be made in Anna's memory to a charity of your choice.
