Anna Saffo, age 85, of Shelton the widow of Stephen Saffo, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Czechoslovakia to the late Michael and Barbara (Novak) Bak she moved to the US when she was 8 and has been a life long area resident living in Shelton for the last 62 Years. She was retired from Bridgeport Metal Goods where she was a machine operator with over 40 years of service. She was a member of the Shelton, Derby and Ansonia Senior Citizens. Survivors include a devoted sister Margaret Lesko and her husband Edward of Bridgeport; a special nephew David Lesko of Shelton also nephews Dennis Lesko and James Lesko of Stratford, Joseph Saffo of Shelton, John Saffo of the Huntington section of Shelton, Richard Saffo of New Hampshire and Robert Saffo of Montana; 2 nieces Marion Walker of West Virginia and Joyce Armstrong of Derby; a great nephew David Markarian of Taipei, Taiwan and several other great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in the Carpathian Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist 364 Mill Hill Ave Bridgeport with a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 3-7 pm Panachida will be at 4:30 pm.
