Anna M. Pekar, age 96, of Stratford, passed away on January 27, 2018 in Lord Chamberlain Health Center, Stratford. Anna was born on December 5, 1921 in Bridgeport, beloved daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Hetes) Pekar, and has been a life long area resident. She was retired from the Accounting Department at AVCO-Lycoming, and was a member of the Slovak Alliance and the First Plavecky Society. Survivors include her sisters, Irene Stanczyk of Stratford, and Patricia Figmic and her husband Joseph of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was pre-deceased by her sisters, Mary Kovalsky, Helen Sulick, and Margaret Barey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
