Anna Moyher Grosner, age 97 of Stratford passed away on Monday October 29, 2007 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center Stratford. Mrs. Grosner, a homemaker who was also employed by various local companies including the Grand Union, was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Anna Sharnik Moyher and has been a life long area resident. Anna was involved in various activities during her life. After her daughter was stricken with polio in 1952, she was town wide chairman of the Mother's March on Polio for the March of Dimes for many years. Her efforts raised thousands of dollars for the fund in the 1950's. She was a Den Mother of Eli Whitney Troop # 78, and was also a member of the Marion Guild at Our Lady of Grace Church and the Baldwin Center. Mom enjoyed her family, having her children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her gave her great joy and comfort. She shared in their success and supported them when needed. She was the widow of George Grosner. Survivors include her beloved children George Grosner and his wife Esther of Sandy Hook, Anne Gruce and her husband Joseph of Virginia, Judith Grosner of Stratford, and Donald Grosner and his wife Kathleen of Florida. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren George and Lynn Grosner, and sons Jacob and Isaac, Anne and Leo VanDerSchuur and their children Matthew and Laura, Mary Grosner, Sue Burlew and daughter Sarah, Joseph and Cecily Gruce, Michael and Marianne Grosner and sons Aidan and Dominic, Jennifer and Robert Mentzer Jr., Mark and Andrea Grosner, and sons Matthew and Nicholas, Catherine and Brian Cooper, Heather and John Bruno and daughters Jessica and Lauren Barry and son Anthony Bruno, James and Pam Grosner and sons Joseph and Daniel. She is also survived by close family friend Dorothy Lane. Anna was pre-deceased by brothers John, Stephen, Joseph, and Michael Moyher, and a sister Mary Zehall. The family would like to express its gratitude to the third floor staff at Lord Chamberlain who gave our mother tender loving care. Funeral services will take place on Friday November 2nd at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
