Anna Steinkampf Chacho was born on July 5, 1902 in Middletown CT daughter of the late Anna and Jacob Steinkampf and died Monday, January 21, 2008 in Lord Chamberlain HCC. She was the widow of John Chacho and Mother of the late Frank (Frannie) Chacho. Anna lived in Monroe for 60 years and was a resident of Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility for the past 16 years. Anna and John had a small farm on Elm St in Monroe (now Evergreen Lane) where they had a few milking cows, hundreds of chicken and a large vegetable garden. They worked hard as all farmers did but enjoyed many picnics and parties under the shade of the large maple trees in their back yard with family and friends. Anna was a former employee of Remington Co. in Bridgeport, a former member of the Monroe Senior Citizens and the Rosary Altar Society of St. Stephen's Church. She was predeceased by her four brothers Louis, Gottlieb, Jacob and August and a sister Rose Horan. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law Mrs. Frank (Betty) Chacho. All the loving care by the nurses, aides and support staff at Lord Chamberlain was greatly appreciated. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 10:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Friends may call from 9:30 am – 20:30 am.
