Anna Koman Balas, age 97, of Redding, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 in her home. Born in Duquesne, PA to the late Vasil and Julia Kovacs Koman, she was a resident of Huntington for 23 years and in Redding for 6 years. Mrs. Balas was a retired factory worker for Remington Rand Company. She was the widow of Andrew Balas and is survived by her beloved daughter Lillian Ray and her husband Charles of Redding; two granddaughters Dr. Andrea Ray and her husband Glenn Fearon of Redlands, CA and Justine Ray and her husband Matthew Maffucci of Wakefield, RI; two great-grandchildren Calder Avery Ray-Fearon and Kai Asher Maffucci; three brothers William, Peter and Andrew Koman all of Slovakia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery, Stratford.
