Ann (Lescheshen) Szalay, age 95 of Huntington, Connecticut was called home to rest in the arms of the Lord on January 6, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late William Szalay. Born in Bridgeport on March 17, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Labash) Lescheshen. Upon graduation from Stratford High School she went directly to work for Bryant Electric as an office clerk and remained employed by them until her retirement. Ann loved to sing and dance. She and her younger brother were instrumental in planning dances for the USO for the local Bridgeport/Stratford area. She relished traveling with her husband Bill and continued to enjoy trips with the Shelton Senior Center after her retirement. Ann had a tremendous love of all animals especially her beloved cat "Mickey." She was independent and strong throughout her entire life, an inspiration to us all. Ann was predeceased by her siblings, Marjorie Nelson, Andrew Lescheshen, their infant brother William Lescheshen and her niece Elaine Price. Ann leaves to cherish her memory a nephew and two nieces along with eight great nieces and nephews and three great-great nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday January 11th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford with Rev. Joseph Irvin officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. At the family's request calling hours have been omitted.
