Ann M. Hetes peacefully passed away at her home in Trumbull at the age of 97.

Born in Czechoslovakia in 1925, she emigrated to the United States in 1928 with her parents, the late George Holodnak and Mary (Stoverchy) Holodnak, and an older sister. A longtime Bridgeport resident, she attended Saints Cyril and Methodius School and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1943. Following her marriage to Vincent J. Hetes in 1951 were the births of their first two of three children and a relocation to Trumbull.

She was the beloved wife of Vincent for over 70 years, and is survived by him as well as her two sons, Michael Hetes of Danbury CT and Robert Hetes (and wife Sharon Barrell) of Durham NC. Survivors also include her grandsons Chip Gasper, Christian Gasper, Austen Hetes and Calvin Hetes as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, her older sister Marcia Duplinsky and her sole daughter Nancy (Gasper). Ann enjoyed her entire family, especially the gatherings during the holidays. She also was an active tenpin bowler and enjoyed dances during the big band era, where she met her husband. They continued attending dances with their closest friends, which later included square dancing. Both Ann and Vincent did enjoy traveling far and wide, to Alaska, Bermuda, Canada, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan and the Panama Canal. Following their retirements, they also spent 12 years wintering in sunny Florida. Ann was also a member of the Sikorsky Retirees Friendship Club and the Textron Lycoming Retirees Club.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, September 13th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral services on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church 5301 Main Street Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
