Andrew Semanchik, age 87 of Stratford, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2006 in his home. Mr. Semanchik, a WW # II Veteran of the U.S. Army, was born in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Anna (Demchak) Semanchik and has been a life long area resident. He was a graduate of B.E.I. and was the former proprietor of the Screw Machine Tool and Engineering Company of Stratford and was a life member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport and their Choir and Male Chorus, the D.A.V., Baldwin Center and St. John's Masonic Lodge # 8 of Stratford. He was the widower of Mary Mudre Semanchik. Survivors include his beloved children Donald Semanchik and his wife Alix of Stratford and Karen Golojuch and her husband Tom of Arlington, VA, his 5 devoted grandchildren Mary Hall and her husband Chuck, David Semanchik and his fiancé Nicole Dillon, Grace, Laura and Julia Golojuch, 1 brother Stephen Semanchik of Trumbull, 3 sisters Ann Malyszka and her husband Joseph of Trumbull, Mary Hritz and her husband Joseph and Dorothy Gilbert all of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday April 14th at 8:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 9 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday (Today) from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Sr. "R" Club Scholarship Fund or to Sterling House Community Center.
