Andrew Pehanick, age 90 of Shelton, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Griffin Hospital in Derby. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on July 17, 1919 to the late Andrew and Mary Pehanick, he has been a life long area resident and was retired from American Chain and Cable, where he was a machinist. Andrew was the widower of Helen M. LeRose and was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. Survivors include a son, Andrew S. Pehanick of Oxford; two daughters: Mary Ellen Cioffi and her husband Robert of Naugatuck and Ann McFadden and her husband Joseph P. Sr.of Stratford; 7 grandchildren: Joshua Neelens, Michelina, Rachel and Antoinette Cioffi, Emily, Thomas and Michael Rastocky; 3 Brothers Michael and Albert Pehanick of Elmhurst, PA and Joseph Pehanick of Orinda, CA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull with a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 pm, Panachida will be at 6:00pm.
