Andrew Kachur, age 92 of Stratford, passed away on Sunday April 16, 2006 in Wicke H.C.C. Shelton. Mr. Kachur, a retired tool and die maker for Hawie Manufacturing Company, was born in Pastilky, Czechoslovakia to the late John and Anna (Kovac) Kachur and has been a long time area resident. He was a member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport and a former church officer and member of the board of directors. He was the widower of Mary Polak Kachur. Survivors include his beloved children Andrew J. Kachur, Mary Ann Sandburg and her husband Bruce, Carole Peterson and her husband Alan all of Stratford and Barbara Hunyadi and her husband Mark of Trumbull, 8 devoted grandchildren Laura Klimaszewski and her husband Joe, Deborah Cadley and her husband Tim, Alan Peterson and his wife Evangelyn, David Peterson and his wife Charlene, Michael Peterson, Sarah Miller and her husband Robert, Amanda Hunyadi and Ryan Strache, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Thursday April 20th at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox of St. John the Baptist for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
