Andrew John Skirkanich, age 92 of Milford the beloved husband of the late Josephine Ringarry Skirkanich passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. Andrew was born on May 24, 1925 in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Suzanne (Kerpchar) Skirkanich and has been a Milford resident since 1957. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII serving in the Pacific Campaign. After the Navy, he worked for Singer before becoming a Milford Policeman; and retiring in 1983 from the State of Connecticut. Andrew was also a member of the Milford Senior Center. Survivors include 2 sons, Andrew Joseph Skirkanich and his wife Diane of North Haven and Dennis Mackey and his wife Linda of Boston, MA, a daughter Andrea Susan Boncek and her husband Joel of Milford, grandchildren, Nicole and Luke Skirkanich, Lauren Polhemus and her husband Andrew, Joseph Boncek and his fiancé Paige Kitson, Nani Murphy, Wade Renier and Karen Savage and her husband Shannon, great-grandchildren, Isla Polhemus, Elijah, Kaleb and Micah Savage, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Andrew was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Skirkanich, brothers, Michael, Peter, John and Joseph Skirkanich and a sister, Helen Jankowski.

Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 11:00 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm. Panchida will be at 4:30 pm.
