Ana Julia Vazquez, age 62, of Stratford, passed away on Saturday June 27, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born July 9, 1952 in Barranquitas Puerto Rico Ana was the oldest of six children. Ana was a Stratford residence for most of her life graduating from Stratford High School in 1972. She was employed by the Kennedy Center and worked for several Wendy Restaurants in Milford and Stratford. An active member of the St. James Parish Community, Ana was a major contributor to the St. James "Prayer Shawl Ministry" donating endless hours making shawls for cancer patients. Along with her mother Maria, Ana was a fixture at St. James masses helping the church as much as she could. She loved all family gatherings, particularly Christmas and all birthday parties especially her own. Ana brought joy and laughter with her presence and will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Ana was predeceased by her father, Juan Vazquez and her daughter, Gina Marie. In addition to her mother, Maria O. Vazquez, survivors include five brothers, Jose Vazquez (Kathie), Albert Vazquez (Carmen), James Vazquez (Denise), Frederick Vazquez and William Vazquez (Kathleen), and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Thursday, July 2nd at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church 2070 Main Street Stratford (meet directly at church) Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in memory of Ana to St. James Prayer Shawl Ministry.
