Obituary

Alphonse J. Lemanski, age 91, of Shelton, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mr. Lemanski, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, was born in Hartford, to the late Joseph and Mary Lemanski. He was a graduate of Goodwin College in Hartford, and retired from Penn State University in 2000, where he was Deputy of the Applied Research Laboratory Material Science Dept, and was a former leader of the Machine Element Technical Group, and a former director of the Gear Material Consortium. Prior to Penn State, he had been employed by Sikorsky Aircraft. Mr. Lemanski was a Technical Fellow of the American Helicopter Society. He was the widower of Mary Kuizin Lemanski and Margaret Mihalik Kober Lemanski. Survivors include his devoted daughter, Karen Reilley of Stratford, 2 stepdaughters, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives, he was pre-deceased by a brother Bernard Lemanski. Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 15th at 11 a.m. in The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill. Friends may call on Monday from 10-11 a.m.
