Alma Soderquist Masek, age 88 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Albert Masek Sr., passed away on Sunday May 1, 2011 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mrs. Masek, a retired sales clerk for Sears-Roebuck was born in Fairfield to the late Carl and Mary (Carol) Soderquist and has been a life long area resident. Prior to Sears, Alma worked on the Corsair Aircraft at Chance Vought and was an avid Polka Dancer and member of the Connecticut Polka Cousins. She loved being referred to as a "Sweater-Girl". Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include her devoted sons Albert Masek Jr and his wife Karen of Milford, and Raymond Masek and his wife Lori of Huntington, 5 grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Danielle, and Sheri Masek and Cindy Krantz, 4 step-grandchildren Michelle and Seth Koos, Tina Kozloski and Christopher Pelletier, 6 great-grandchildren Austin Halpin, Alec, Lucas, and Ryan Krantz, Joshua Sagliano, and Michael Satkowski, a sister-in-law Esther Soderquist, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by 4 brothers John, Victor, Walter and Charles Soderquist and a sister Ann Fray. Funeral services will take place on Friday May 6th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. ion Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
