Obituary

Alexander Swidar, age 81, of Stratford the beloved husband of 57 years to Mildred Stonoha Swider, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport to the late Jacob and Mary Garasimovicz Swidar he has been a lifelong area resident. Mr. Swider was a dedicated veteran of WWII proudly serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater on board the USS. Henry T. Allen, APA-15 participating in the battles in New Guinea and the Solomons and Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. He was a retired Firefighter with the City of Bridgeport with 26 years of service. Alexander was also a gifted artist who also enjoyed model airplane building in his retirement. In addition to his wife survivors include a son Alex and his wife Janice of Seymour; a sister Mary Pistey of Yucca Valley, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceases by 5 brothers Jack Swidar and Lawrence, Daniel, John and Peter Cybul. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, September 12 from 6 – 8 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral services will be private.
