Alexander P. Jovia, age 76 of Stratford widower of the late Eleanor Barichko Jovia passed away on Monday October 20, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Jovia, a retired truck driver for Pace Motor Lines was born in Bridgeport to the late Paul and Antoinette (Cerone) Jovia and has been a life long area resident. He was a long time duckpin bowler at Barnum Lanes in Stratford. Survivors include his beloved children Gary Massaro and his wife Pamela, Joseph Massaro and his wife Karen all o f Stratford, Robert Massaro of Ansonia, Julius Massaro of Bridgeport, Paul Jovia and his wife Jennifer of Hamden, and Lenore Caserta and her husband Frank of Bridgeport, 8 grandchildren Marisa, Joseph, Donna, Jake, Aiden, Frank, Victoria and Ashley, 3 great-grandchildren Jenna, Kendra and Rian, a brother Paul Jovia of Florida, a sister Rose Seno of Milford and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Brenda Brooks and a sister Marie Hmurcik. Funeral services will take place on Friday October 24th at 9:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford.
