Albert Hudak passed away peacefully December 28th, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. Albert was born February 19th, 1929 to Frances and Michael Hudak in Stratford, Connecticut. He was known to many as 'Al' and attended Stratford High School, graduating in 1947. Al excelled in sports and played for the Stratford High Football, Baseball and Track teams. Al married Joan Augustus, his high school sweetheart, in 1950 and just celebrated their 60th anniversary. He later owned and operated Latham Tool & Manufacturing in Fairfield with his partner Virgot Granfors.
Al and Joan have three children, Virginia Hudak of Plano TX, Craig Hudak and wife Mariann of Huntington, CT; and Scott Hudak of Stratford, CT. They have five grandchildren, Debi, Norm, Kelly, Taylor, Alexandra and Lori who passed away in 2001. Al and Joan also have four great grandchildren. Al enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether at a favorite local breakfast spot or a family sporting event. He enjoyed helping those around him with advice and support, as well as, the day-to-day chores we often take for granted. Al and Joan shared many trips to Jamaica, WI every year during their time together, where they enjoyed the warm sun and ocean, made long lasting friends and have fond memories. He will lovingly be remembered as an inspiration to those whose lives he touched. Family and friends can gather at Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford on Thursday December 30th from 4 to 8pm and Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.for a short remembrance.
