Albert F. Dancho, age 81, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Louise Bisciglia Dancho, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 in his home. Al, a retired Police Officer for the Town of Stratford was born in Bridgeport to the late George and Alexandra Kolenda Dancho and has been a life long area resident. He was a graduate of Stratford High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Housatonic Community College. Al was a member of The Knights of Columbus, and the Baldwin Center Men's Club where he enjoyed playing cards and bocce. Survivors include his devoted children, Gregg Dancho and his wife Laura, Russell Dancho and his wife Alina, Albert Dancho and his wife Allison, Kyle Dancho and his wife Eileen, John Dancho and his partner Scott, and Margaret Gough and her husband Chris, 18 cherished grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his brothers, Louis, Alfred and Robert Dancho, his brothers-in-laws, Michael Bisciglia and his wife Janice, Christopher Bisciglia and his wife Sara Jean, and several nieces and nephews all of which he loved dearly. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was pre-deceased by his son George, and his brother George. The family would like to thank the compassionate friends, family and nurses who helped care for "Big Al" in his final days. He will always be known for his generous hugs, which came from the heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Martin Ryan on Wednesday, September 28th at 11a.m meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 498 Second Hill Lane Stratford. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet his family on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
