Agnes Plavnicky Shypula, age 82 of Bridgeport, died Saturday February 18, 2006 in her home. Born in Byesville, Ohio to the late Michael and Katherine Hudak Plavnicky, Agnes was the widow of Michael Shypula and was a Bridgeport resident for many years. After 31 years of service she retired from Sikorsky Aircraft as an electrical assembler. Agnes was a member of the St. John's Choir, St. John's Seniors, a member of a duckpin-bowling league and loved to croquet. Survivors include her daughter Agnes Anna Shypula of Bridgeport, a sisters Katherine Plavnicky of Stratford, a brother John Plavnicky of Stratford, daughter-in-law Karen Shypula of Long Meadow MA., son-in-law Fred Richaedson. Also five granddaughters, Kara, Alison, Dana and Kristen Shypula, and Mary Richardson. Agnes was pre-deceased by her son Michael and daughter Kathryn. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 22 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10:00 am in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Stratford. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4-8 pm with Panachida service at 4:30.
